Here It Is: Darling Issue 22!

Welcome to The Expanse: our theme for Darling Issue 22.

But this isn’t the kind of space you may be expecting. For this issue and beyond, we’re thinking about the space we occupy. The personal, internal space that’s ours alone and how that intersects with the shared space of others around us.

Here’s a snippet of Sarah’s Letter From the Editor to explain:

The truth is that we aren’t just taking up space on this earth. Rather, our very existence is balanced between sea, sky and land; all that we do is intertwined, impacting one another for better or for worse. When we manage the space in our lives with love, openness, compassion and peace, our culture greatly reflects the bright night sky—the beautiful complexity and wonder of it all.

You may notice in this issue that we gave Darling a new look. Moving to a revised size and a more flexible quality was both an aesthetic decision and a move toward the magazine being able to travel with you more easily.

Inside this issue, you’ll find dreamy, other-worldly images and artwork alongside articles and essays about our space on this planet as women. You’ll also read interviews with women from the astrophysical engineering field to the entertainment and music arenas.

Our hope is that this issue inspires you to wonder, to step up where you are needed and to own your personal realm of impact. Here’s to ending 2017 well and starting 2018 even better.
