What Are We Waiting For?
I waited around
for much too long
focusing on
and being afraid of
everything I didn’t want.
And then one day
I woke up
ready to let go
and move on
and into the self I always
knew I was.
I stepped into my deservingness
to live a joyful life
started answering to my soul
and not to those outside
myself.
The tears fell
with only one question
lingering:
Why did I wait so long?
