In The Details _ Darling Blog January (1)

Since the beginning of time, there has always been the idea in fashion circles that if a little is good, than a lot must be great.  Why wear one bracelet when you can wear ten and call it an “arm party”?  There is something really beautiful and chic, though, about minimalist details and simple styling. That’s why for our new series, In The Details, we’ll be highlighting just four simple pieces that you can pair with any look. You might already have them in your closet or bathroom cabinet if you look hard enough.  Simple. Effortless. Chic.

1. I am huge fan of choosing one or two smaller accessories for a look over huge, over-the-top statement pieces.  I love the bold, graphic design of this ring. It would go with just about anything!

2. I start counting down to spring shortly after the new year, but while it’s still winter we might as well make the best of it.  How great are these cashmere penguin gloves? Perfectly unexpected and quirky.

3. My nails spent most of November and December in deep wine colors and classic red.  This week I am loving the soft pastel hue of this Essie polish. It’s just as versatile as it is cheerful and optimistic!

4. For their last two autumn/winter collections, Lanvin has created these embellished beanies that sell for around $900.  Lucky for us, this one is from Topshop, and sells for a tiny fraction of that. (Also loving this one and this one, too.) Messy hair, don’t care.
