Our hats are off to Parker Clay Intl., the first socially-conscious brand to release a virtual reality interactive video that allows their customers to actually come along and experience what they do in the African community they are based out of.
The fully-immersive, 360-degree video series is broken out into three separate two-minute chapters that allow consumers to see directly how their purchase of a leather bag affects the lives of people in Ethiopia.
If you haven’t heard of Parker Clay yet, then here’s a quick run down to get you up to speed: Parker Clay is a leather goods brand that was started solely to provide jobs for vulnerable women coming out of human-trafficking situations. The founders were living in Ethiopia after they adopted their two daughters in the capital, and wanted to create something to sustain ethical work opportunities for these incredible women artisans they were meeting along the way.
The company was entirely founded with the purpose of simply empowering women.
This captivating video series is to raise awareness for what the brand is doing in Ethiopia and also with mission to spread the word that consumers should care about what they buy, where it comes from and how it’s made.
Thank you Parker Clay for pioneering this movement of complete transparency through innovative technology!
And because you really have to see this for yourselves to understand why we’re geeking out over it, pull up the below link on your mobile device or tablet, stand in one place and move your phone around to look at your surroundings. It’s a fully-immersive experience with no fancy headsets required!
