Monthly Music Mix: Finding Peace

“I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality… I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

War.  Terrorism.  Extremism.  Racism.  Hate.  Violence.  Unrest.  Suffering.  Death.

These words should not be commonplace for us in everyday news.

Yet for centuries, battles have been fought against both the just and the unjust, as if it is the norm.  But it is oftentimes only truly felt when these words become reality and hit us close to home.  The world we live in needs a shift in consciousness, one that gears towards love and understanding.  We cannot turn back time, but we can ensure the pages of our own history speak volumes about who we are and what we stand for.

Today, we give you songs in the hopes of lifting your spirits higher to find some peace and to pay it forward.
