Round two with Create + Cultivate! They’re back sharing some great advice with us on how to put your best (business) self out there. They’ve asked a few of (our favorite) pros to figure out what really goes into making a brand impactful, long-lasting and genuine. We’re sharing their thoughts with you, below.

We’re ever curious about what makes a brand successful — and if there are certain tenets that will always remain important, especially in the face of shifting technology. So we asked three of our previous Create & Cultivate DTLA panelists to share.

With just a few weeks left until our ship date, we are so excited to release the cover for Darling Issue 16! This cover image radiates all that we’re hoping for in the coming months: Light, joy, warmth, energy and a healthy dose of the unexpected.

Issue 16 dives into something we might have a tendency to shy away from. Complexity. What does it look like to conquer some of those confusing, complicated or frustrating things in life? Can we find a sense of satisfaction apart from complete understanding? And is there beauty in doing so?

To explain why she’s so passionate about this issue, we’re sharing a word from our Editor-in-Chief and Creative Director, Sarah Dubbeldam. Watch her video below and find out how to get your hands on one of the first copies!

Think you need to carve out hours of your morning in order to get a good workout in? We’re happy to tell you that’s not the case. FabFitFun shares some of the easiest ways to stay healthy (and get out of bed…) before getting to that 9-5.

Exercising before work may sound like death, but there are quite a few benefits to it. Working out helps wake you up, gets you mentally prepared for the day, and jump starts your metabolism. You don’t have to set your alarm for the crack of dawn to work out, though. Even squeezing in quick, under 30-minute exercises can counteract the hours you spend sitting at your desk job.

Try these five easy exercises in the morning before you head off to work.

Nervous about networking? Completely understandable. Yet, thankfully Create + Cultivate is back sharing a few quick tips that even a master networker can brush up on. Read these before your next event and be sure to hit it out of the park.

While networking can always seem intimidating, it’s something all of our attendees have mastered on site and have been able to take advantage of for their own professional development, and you should too. If you’re looking for ways to brush up your networking skills, we’ve got you covered with the tips below to make sure you don’t lose out on any opportunities next month.

The beginning of another work week — we get it. But before you succumb to the stress and the busyness that this week may hold for you, we invite you to take a minute (well, 48 seconds) to pause and notice the sheer joy on one teen’s face. When her health prevented her from attending a Florence and the Machine concert with her best friend, the concert came to her at Hospice Austin’s Christopher House instead.

We were tearing up eight seconds in. This is what it’s all about, yeah?

Summer’s calling, and so is that chilled glass of rosé at 5 ‘o clock. No matter where you drink it, rosé always adds just a little hint of vacation to any evening, which can be a welcome addition to a season where everyone seems to be jetting off on a moment’s notice.

So, to help you better plan for your next post-workday escape, we asked Chief Wine Officer at Winc, Brian Smith, what rosés he’d recommend for under the non-vacation-budget price of $25. Below he shares his top five.

Adele wins. We know this. Her effortless voice, the way her songs take up camp in the teensiest crevices of our soul, and on top of it all, she keeps a down-to-earth vibe that isn’t afraid to have a little fun.

So, when we came across this ballet — another form of art where talent holds us completely captivated — set to the tune of her latest album, we knew we had to share. These dancers are incredibly skilled, seriously in sync … and now we’re off to practice a few pliés.

If you think of the pages on your blog or business website like the squares of a Monopoly board, your “About” page would be Boardwalk. So valuable is this piece of virtual real estate, people come barreling through your front door like it’s a never-ending open house whether you invited them in or not. They’re intrigued! They’re curious!

So, what have you planted on your “About” page?

As the weather warms up so does a desire to streamline our beauty and skincare routines. The simpler, the better, yes? Well, it can’t get any simpler OR better than this latest Chalkboard Mag advice. In our opinion, taking a cure from nature is always a safe bet.

Honey is so much more than just sugar, and the wide-reaching benefits of honey prove it. Everything about this golden goop boosts beauty, both internally and externally. We’re not ready to try the bee sting facial just yet (yes, that’s a real thing), but we’re more than ready to use honey – a potent antibacterial and anti-inflammatory – for these three simple beauty ideas to get our skin purified, plumped and glowing!

Nothing fires us up more than watching other women conquer obstacles and chase their dreams. Which is why we’ve completely fallen in love with Carly Fleischmann, a 21-year-old journalist from Canada who, even though she has autism and is unable to speak using her mouth, communicates via keyboard and just scored a pretty  big interview for her first time on camera.

Watch in full below and tell us you don’t agree: Can’t we please see more women like Carly on our screens? We absolutely love this.

Clearly, we’re wine fans around these parts. There’s just something about a time-honored tradition, being reliant on the rain, the sun and the earth, and condensing years of hard work into one simple glass — all to better eat with, no less — that we can seriously respect.

What else do we respect?  When there’s a woman behind it all.

We recently hosted our first creative retreat in the quaint and beautiful town of Carmel by the Sea, California. The weekend was absolutely incredible and filled with life-changing moments, authentic conversation and delicious food and wine. A picturesque stone house nestled in the cliffs overlooking the ocean was where twelve vulnerable yet fearless ladies called home for four rejuvenating days.

It’s safe to say that the weekend will not soon be forgotten.
